FEEDBACK: AN AUTONOMOUS FISH FEEDING SYSTEM

Feedback was Yellow Team's project for MIT's Mechanical Engineering capstone class: 2.009 (Product Design Processes). Groups were given the course of a semester to do market research, make prototypes, and build a finalized product.

Feedback integrates with the farmer's existing fish feeder. The sensor module monitors the water temperature and dissolved oxygen.

Farmers can input the feeding times and fish species, size, weight, and quantity. Feedback calculates and dispenses the amount of food to dispense based on these inputs and the sensor values.

Feedback saves farms
50,000 USD on feed
30,000 USD on labor
yearly
My main role was designing and making this sensor cage. The main constraints were protecting the sensors from fish and water impact while allowing for cleaning and clear access to the water.
