Hi! I’m Nour.

I’m a mechanical engineer and designer currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at MIT, after completing my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and Design also at MIT. I am also going to stay at MIT for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, driven by a desire to do deeper research at the intersection of engineering, design, and human experience.

My work focuses on translating physics-based engineering principles into thoughtful, manufacturable products, with particular attention to accessibility, cost, and scale. I am currently a researcher at the MIT AgeLab, where I study how design decisions shape user confidence and adoption, especially for older adults interacting with emerging technologies. This work has engrained in me that the user should always be the top priority, and that good engineering is inseparable from good user experience.

Through research and hands-on class projects, I have worked across CAD, prototyping, materials, manufacturing processes, and system integration. I am especially interested in how manufacturing choices can make well-designed products more accessible to a wider population.

Outside of engineering and design, I love traveling, hiking, listening to music, and spending time with my dog. I’m constantly inspired by new places and people, and I bring those perspectives back into how I think about designing for real humans in the real world.
